Learn how to navigate the payment process for Research Assistant and Mitacs Scholarships from start to finish. This session will guide you through the key processes and procedures involved, with a focus on considerations unique to research projects. It will also cover how to determine if a scholarship is the correct form of payment to the student.

We also recommend registering for the Student Recruitment Processes in UWinsite People session to gain a full understanding of student hiring procedures completed within the system.

Taking Minutes at UWindsor

Minutes are the legal and historical record of the proceedings, discussions, and decisions of a meeting. Taking minutes can be an intimidating task. This session will provide an overview of the key principles for minute taking and templates/samples for use and reference. It will also outline what information to record during the meetings, how to successfully write concise summaries and take good notes.

Senate Bylaws and Rules of Order and Procedures for Senate Committees

Rules of order and procedures are the agreed-upon framework, established by an organization’s governing body and/or parliamentary procedure rule book such as Robert’s Rules of Order, that governs how committees are run and meetings are conducted to ensure a fair, equitable, efficient, and open decision-making process.  This session will focus on rules of order and procedures for Senate committees, including committee composition, quorum, motions, voting, and member conduct and responsibilities.
